Job Description

 AG3 is seeking an experienced Estimator to work closely with many other professionals including consultants, contractors, accountants, and operations personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis for their employers. Their duties often include:

Responsibilities:

As a Construction Estimator at AG3 Group, you will be responsible for:

  • Project Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to develop competitive and compelling bids. Ensure bids are submitted on time and comply with project specifications.
  • Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough risk analysis for each project, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Source and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals. Negotiate pricing and terms to secure the best possible deals for the company.
  • Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Budget Monitoring: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, providing timely updates to project management and making recommendations for cost savings where possible.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, construction methods, and material costs. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the estimation department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in the 2-5 years range.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Excel).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
